Habitat for Humanity of Kent County seeks to fill the position of Material Recovery Supervisor, reporting to the Material Recovery Manager. The Material Recovery Supervisor will coordinate and perform recovery projects to obtain donated gifts that require physical removal and disassembly from the donor’s premises to be sold in Habitat for Humanity of Kent County ReStores or to be used in Habitat for Humanity of Kent County building projects.
Responsibilities include:
  • Leading and working with volunteers to efficiently recover and transport donated items.
  • Controlling the project site, ensuring safety and order is maintained.
  • Ensuring volunteers and donors have a positive experience.
  • Promote the program through community outreach and contact with trade contractors.                                                                                                                                                                           
Required skills and abilities include:
  • Three or more year’s construction experience with a demonstrated body of work and good understanding of residential construction.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work and communicate well with a diverse range of people.
  • A valid driver’s license with safe record; CDL preferred.
  • The ability to lift and/or move a minimum of 60 pounds. 
  • An active Michigan Residential Builder License is preferred.
